DREAMS, structuring & implementation

The recognition of Dutch creative fashion companies still stands at a modest level compared to other European nations.

Very few fashion companies in the Netherlands truly develop themselves into financial independent companies.

Dutch fashion designers are put into a survival mode through the current subsidy system.

Forty to sixty designers are trying to bring up an artistic approach to fashion but very few of them will succeed in the current situation.

We need structural solutions to overcome the problems we are facing today.

Therefore we have three propositions:

The set-up of a creative investment fund;

The set up of a knowledge center linked to the creative investment fund;

The set up of a Masters Degree in quality management.

At CO-Lab we try to lobby structural solutions with the motto that ‘ although fashion is not an art, it is an essential part of the creative industry and consequently important in terms of economic, social and cultural grounds.
