Kentroy Yearwood (1968 ) was born on the South American Island of Curacao. He moved to Holland aged 14 and pursued his childhood dream of studying Fashion. Kentroy graduated from the Technical School of Pattern and Tailoring in Den Hague in 1988 and successfully won a place at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerpen Belgium.
In 1999 Kentroy returned to live in Amsterdam and began to work for a commercial company for four years. His own Denim label named “Intoxica” debuted in winter 2005. The label is aimed at the denim connoisseur and combines his vast knowledge of materials and finishing techniques with inventive and aesthetic design. Intoxica uses over 85% organic materials and maintains a 100% fair-trade production. Ethic and environmental values are of great importance to Kentroy and he maintains a strong belief in their place in the fashion industry today. With Intoxica, Kentroy hopes to pierce the consumer’s conscience whilst wetting their taste buds for exciting new design.
